Dover Symphony Orchestra to Perform "9/11 Tribute" Concert on Sept. 11

The Dover Symphony Orchestra, in conjunction with Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, will perform a special free concert on Sunday, September 11, at 1 p.m. at the Rollins Center.

The concert will be in remembrance of those lost on 9/11/01 as well as a tribute to first responders, including fire and police personnel and our military. An honor guard from Dover AFB will present the colors.

The 60-member orchestra has provided classical and popular music to central Delaware since 1968, including an annual young people’s concert. DSO President Nancy Pikulik and Conductor Donald Buxton have selected well-known patriotic music for the concert.

“We owe much to those who protect us. It’s a real privilege to honor all who have given so much to our community and country. We also owe a great deal to the central Delaware community for all the support they’ve shown for the Dover Symphony. We hope, in some small way, that this shows our appreciation,” said Mr. Buxton.
