We invite you to support the Dover Symphony, not only with your gift of money, but also by attending concerts and encouraging your friends to do so too. We are deeply grateful to our dedicated supporters who have contributed in the past and welcome new patrons who will help us maintain Dover as a center for classical music.

As a non-profit organization, we are encountering increasing demands on our resources for rehearsal and performance space, for rental or purchase of music, for compensation of soloists, our Music Director, and section principals. We are attempting to maintain high performance standards despite escalating costs. The orchestra is supported by grants from the state — but because this year the state faces a deficit, we do not expect state funding to keep up with our expenses.

Our mission and role as a community orchestra is a vital addition to the cultural life of Dover. The DSO has served Dover and Kent County for over 40 years by providing family entertainment at affordable prices. Feedback from our audience indicates a strong desire that we continue our heritage. We have presented live performances of classical and popular music to the Dover area, produced by an organization of volunteer musicians, and have fostered the interest of local students in orchestral music.
